Mego DC Pocket Super Heroes: Batman (1979) – Mint on Card (Unpunched)
Capture the definitive 1970s aesthetic with this legendary Mego Pocket Super Heroes Batman. Released in 1979, this 3.75-inch line was Mego’s answer to the rising popularity of smaller scale figures, and it remains a cornerstone for any serious DC Comics archivist.
Why this Batman is a “Holy Grail” Candidate:
-
Rare Unpunched Condition: Most surviving 1979 cards have been punched or show heavy shelf wear. This unit features an intact hanger, making it a prime candidate for AFA/UKG grading.
-
Vibrant Red Card Graphics: The iconic red cardback features classic DC artwork that remains bright and unfaded—a rarity for 45-year-old cardstock.
-
Factory Sealed Bubble: The blister is crystal clear and firmly attached to the card, preserving Batman’s classic gray and blue suit in factory-fresh condition.
The “Not-So Vintage” Standard:
-
Secure USA Dispatch: Located in the USA, this high-value vintage piece avoids the risks of international shipping. We use double-boxing and rigid protectors to ensure the card remains flat and the bubble stays crush-free.
-
Investment Grade: A 1979 Unpunched Batman is a high-liquidity asset. Its value is driven by its rarity and its crossover appeal between Mego and Batman completionists.
